Organic chicken farming, also known as ecological farming, is governed by stricter rules than conventional farming. It emphasizes animal welfare and respects their natural behavior. Hens must have the opportunity to lay eggs in nests, dust bathe, perch, and, in good weather, have all-day access to an outdoor run. They are fed feed that comes from organic farming. And thanks to the outdoor run, a significant portion of their consumption consists of natural food: earthworms, insects, or grazed grass. This also improves the health benefits of the eggs for our health. Compliance with these conditions is regularly and strictly controlled by the SVS (Veterinary Administration).
Our Bovans-brown hens are fed biologically certified feed that is free of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and have free access to an outdoor pasture where they can enjoy sunlight, natural vegetation, and free movement. All these factors are reflected in the quality of our eggs, which are an excellent source of nutrients. They contain high amounts of protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. These nutrients are important for the proper functioning of our bodies and contribute to our overall health. In addition, organic eggs have lower cholesterol and saturated fat content compared to eggs from conventionally raised hens.
